EPA Method 325 - Additional Applications

Consent Decrees & Community Agreements

Method 325 is incorporated into consent decrees between industrial sites and surrounding communities. It is the preferred monitoring technique for not only the community but also from an industry standpoint for its low cost, accuracy and ease of implementation.

State Investigations & Enforcement

Method 325 is used to help state agencies better understand emissions from industrial sites and what impact those emissions may have on neighboring communities. The fact that states can easily deploy passive sampling monitors that require no power and are fairly inconspicuous, make them a great monitoring tool for this type of application.

Voluntary & Community Monitoring

When a new or existing industrial site wants to show what impact, if any, their emissions have on the community, Method 325 is the favored practice. In the same regard, communities that want to see the impact industrial site emissions may have, can also leverage Method 325 to accomplish this goal. The ease of use, simple implementation, low-cost and accuracy all make Method 325 a great tool for understanding benzene concentrations of a particular area.
